The future of business is being shaped by one of the most significant technological shifts in history. Artificial intelligence is transforming industries, changing how organisations operate and redefining what it means to be competitive.
But while technology continues to accelerate at an unprecedented pace, one question remains at the centre of every transformation journey:
How do we ensure people evolve alongside the technology?
For Gina Buckney, this question has shaped more than two decades of leadership, transformation and innovation. Now recognised with an AI International Businesswoman Award, Gina’s work reflects a growing understanding that the future of business is not simply about smarter technology, it is about smarter humans.
A respected transformation leader, author and global speaker, Gina has built a career at the intersection of technology, leadership and human potential.
Her journey from senior corporate leadership roles within some of the world’s largest organisations to becoming the Founder of Your People Power has been driven by one belief: true transformation happens when people are empowered to adapt, grow and perform in a rapidly changing world.
A Career Built Around Transformation
Long before artificial intelligence became one of the defining conversations in business, Gina Buckney was leading transformation in complex, technology-driven environments.
With over 20 years’ experience across technology, finance, telecommunications and global services, Gina has operated at the forefront of change, navigating digital transformation, restructuring, global delivery models and large-scale organisational evolution.
Her corporate consulting career includes working with organisations such as Microsoft, Amazon, HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds Banking Group and BT Group, where she has gained and shared first-hand experience of what makes transformation succeed, and what causes it to fail.
At just 28 years old, Gina became Contract Director of Global Services and Financial Markets at BT Group, leading one of the company’s largest outsourced financial services contracts, with a lifetime value of around £450 million.
Managing significant commercial responsibility, global teams and complex operational environments, Gina quickly learned that transformation was never simply a business challenge.
It was a human one.
Behind every strategy, system and technology implementation were people being asked to adapt, embrace uncertainty and deliver results under pressure.
This understanding would become the foundation for her future work.

The Human Side of Artificial Intelligence
As businesses now enter the age of AI, Gina believes organisations are facing a new transformation challenge.
Artificial intelligence offers enormous opportunities to improve productivity, decision-making and innovation. However, technology alone cannot create successful businesses.
The organisations that thrive will be those that understand how to combine technological advancement with human capability.
Skills such as emotional intelligence, creativity, resilience, critical thinking and adaptability will become increasingly valuable as automation continues to reshape the workplace.
“Technology will continue to evolve, but human potential remains the greatest competitive advantage,” says Gina.
This belief has become a defining theme of Gina’s work, exploring how leaders and organisations can prepare for a future where humans and technology work together.
From Corporate Leader to Global Change Maker
After years of leading transformation within global organisations, Gina founded Your People Power to focus on the area she believes will define the next generation of successful businesses: unlocking human performance.
Her work combines leadership, neuroscience, emotional intelligence and workplace wellbeing to explore how individuals and organisations can perform at their best during periods of uncertainty and change.
However, Gina’s approach is also deeply personal.
Having experienced burnout herself, she understands the pressures placed on modern leaders and professionals navigating constant demands, increasing expectations and a world that rarely slows down.
That experience shaped her perspective on success.
For Gina, high performance is not about pushing harder indefinitely. It is about developing the mindset, resilience and self-awareness needed to sustain performance over the long term.
Championing Women in Technology and Leadership
Throughout her career, Gina has also been a strong advocate for greater representation of women in technology and leadership.
Having spent much of her professional life in traditionally male-dominated industries, including technology, engineering and finance, she understands the importance of creating opportunities and visibility for future generations of women.
Her advocacy has included participation with UN Women UK during the Commission on the Status of Women, contributing to conversations around closing the gender gap and encouraging more women into STEM careers.
For Gina, transformation is not only about business performance, it is also about creating a more inclusive future.
“The leaders of tomorrow need curiosity, courage and the ability to see possibilities where others see challenges.”
Recognition as an AI International Businesswoman
The AI International Businesswoman Award recognises Gina’s contribution to conversations around technology, leadership and the future of work.
The recognition comes at a time when businesses globally are navigating unprecedented levels of change.
For Gina, the award represents the importance of bringing a human perspective to one of the biggest transformations of our generation.
While AI continues to dominate conversations around the future of business, Gina believes the most important transformation is taking place within people themselves.
The ability to adapt.
The ability to learn.
The ability to think differently.
These are the qualities that will define future success.
A Vision for the Future
As a TEDx Global Speaker and transformation expert, Gina continues to share her message with leaders and organisations around the world.
Her work focuses on helping people understand that transformation is not something that happens externally, it begins internally.
The future will belong to those who can combine technology with human intelligence, innovation with emotional intelligence, and ambition with resilience.
AI may be changing the way we work.
But people will determine what comes next.
For Gina Buckney, the next chapter of business transformation is clear:
The greatest advantage in the age of AI will always be human.
